Proposal for final project
Everyday, there are millions of plastic tableware are being used only once and threw in the trash. This is such a waste and also a pollution to the environment because the plastic material is very hard to be decomposed by the soil. So one of the ways to get rid of these plastic plates is dumping them into the ocean. As a matter of fact, Scientists at Ghent University in Belgium recently calculated t hat shellfish lovers are eating up to 11,000 plastic fragments in their seafood each year. We absorb fewer than 1%, but they will still accumulate in the body over time. Thus, basically we are eating what we threw away through the food chain cycle. My idea for the final project is to create a kind of tableware that not only can be used but also can be consumed such that we can avoid wasting materials and be friendly to the environment.
